Course Description: 1900 was a year when art and culture changed drastically; it is the start of Modernism. It did not happen uniformly across the Western world so looking at the art, architecture and design of a number of significant centres yields a fascinating kaleidoscope of different styles and forms vying with each other.

Course Title: British Architects: Their Lives & Work
Course Description: We shall examine the work of a number of famous British architects, such as: Inigo Jones, Butterfield, Lutyens and Rogers - spanning the period from the Renaissance to the present day. In various ways they are all innovators and their buildings capture the spirit of the time in which they lived- and, in the case if Richard Rogers, live.
